Originally scheduled to be released this coming February 2019, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today that Days Gone will be delayed until April 2019.
To be exact, the new release date of Days Gone has been moved to April 26, 2019. The reason behind the delay is due to the month of February being too crowded for a game release. While the decision may be wise indeed, Bend Studio has decided to simply take the time to further polish the game.
Below is the brief statement of Sony Interactive Entertainment in regards to the delay:
We want to share a change in release date for this highly anticipated title from Bend Studio. We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019. While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.
As PlayStation fans already know, Days Gone is an open-world action game set in the high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. Traversing harsh landscapes on their drifter bike, players must fight for resources as they attempt to survive broken roads, unpredictable weather, attacks from other human factions, infected wildlife and roaming Freakers — a brutal, dynamic world that is dangerous both day and night.
The news about the delay is indeed disappointing as many have been anticipating it on February. Sure it is disappointing but let’s just think the fact that the game will get extra more time to be polished. It’s an open-world game after all- which is bound to experience technical issues here and there.
Days Gone will be out on PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
